WHO AM I?

I am a very positive and energetic person. I have always been a person who is very goal oriented. If there is something that is important to me and that I want to achieve I work relentlessly and consistently to achieve that goal. I am not easily discouraged and believe that each person has an endless potential and that anything can be accomplished with hard work and dedication. You will never hear me say "I cannot do that". Those words are not in my vocabulary. If I am presented with a challenge I will face it head on with confidence. I am not afraid to ask for help, in fact I believe asking for help is one of the key ways that people succeed and meet their goals. I am a person who enjoys working with others and helping others. I make it a point to be available to others so that I can help them in any way possible. I believe that collaborating and sharing ideas is an important skill and attribute to possess. Through collaboration and discussion amazing ideas and strategies can be formed. Overall I am a team player, I am a person who wants to help, I am a person who values actions over words, I am a person who is responsible and consistent, I am someone who is caring and compassionate, I am a person who loves learning and spreading knowledge to children, I am an educator and a School Counselor!

FUN FACTS

I am an identical twin! I was also born in Twinsburg, Ohio. My sister and I received a medal for being identical twins on the day of our birth. We also attend and have attended Twins Days every year since our second birthday. Twins Days is the largest gathering of twins in the world, it is a festivity that happens yearly and lasts for three days. We have won both silver and gold medals in the look-alike contests.

I have been described as a very positive, friendly, and approachable person. One of my main passions is helping others, it is something that brings me happiness and joy.

HOBBIES

Writing: I enjoy writing creatively. I write both poetry and short stories. I have entered my writing to be published and had a piece of poetry published in 2012. I am very proud of this accomplishment.

Photography: I love taking photos and capturing moments. My favorite thing to photograph is nature. You can often find me taking photos of the sky in the sunrise/sunset hours of the day. Any chance that I have to take photos I take advantage of!

Reading: Believe it or not, I have not always been the most avid reader. Throughout high school I was exposed to many different types of literature and finally discovered my love for reading. The first book I read and truly enjoyed was "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. I now read whenever I get the chance and have a few favorite books and authors. Some of my favorite books are: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, The Giver by Louis Lowry, The Shining by Stephen King, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, and any and all poetry by Edgar Allan Poe to name a few, the list can go on..

Animals: Although this is not considered a hobby I still feel it is important to include. I have always loved animals and have always found a deep compassion and kindness in them. I have had many pets throughout my life thus far and will continue to do so, I enjoy the company of all types of animals, some of my favorites are: dogs, cats, and fish. Again, the list can go on...

Music: Throughout my childhood I took piano lessons and performed at various concerts. I did this for ten years of my life and it provided me with very valuable skills and determination. Through consistent practice, successes, and failures I grew as a person and gained a love for classical music. I enjoy playing classical music for students throughout the school day and believe that it helps with concentration and also exposes them to something that they may not be as familiar with. I also enjoy singing (although I may not be the best at it).

Crochet: Crocheting is one of my newer hobbies, but it is something that I truly enjoy doing. I taught myself how to crochet throughout my time living and teaching in Alaska. I became interested in it because it is an activity that the women who live in the village I was living in do often. I now crochet on a weekly basis, at least 2-3 times per week, creating anything from mittens and slippers to hats, headbands, and cases for my electronic devices.

Yoga: Yoga is something I began practicing a few years ago. It is something I truly love doing, and it helps me reset, refresh, and relax my mind and body.

Art: Art and creativity are extremely important to me. I consider myself to be an artistic and creative person who enjoys expressing creativity. I love viewing art, creating art, learning about art, and teaching art.
